"There is a lift kit on this truck," said Richfield Police Sgt. Matt Steen. "So we don't have to crane our necks to see that they're holding their phone in their lap and that's where most people hold it is down in their lap."
Oh the humanity they had to crane their necks!

IL cops have a habit of chasing me down just to hover and stare. I figured they were just being asses harassing out-of-staters but I guess they were trying to sneak a peak at my lap?

If there is a hand that's not visible, and in the drivers lap....well they could be doing something else with that hand !!!! :giggle:
They don't let me have tinted windows...then they ticket me for indecent exposure! It's a catch-22!

You could simply go to court and claim you were preforming an emergency procedure that ended in a climactic finish !!!

I'd expect this here in Illinois, not MN of all places...

I was traveling a week or so ago and got passed by a couple Challengers/Chargers and then a Dodge SVT on the highway.

Couple minutes and miles later the SVT had the other two pulled over, blue lights flashing. 🚨 🚓

In Toronto, they are riding the street cars so they can look into the cars beside them and relay the information to officers on the street.

If you’ve ever been on our street cars (P.U.), you can see, they’re definitely putting their lives on the line.

Local news in CT a while back that cops were riding busses to check on cellphone use of cars going by.

I have no issue with this. As a motorcyclist I fully approve.

Coming back from a trip last Thursday both lanes were stacked with vehicles and we were doing 50mph in the left lane in a 65 mph zone. After about 4 miles and 15 cars passing on the right I finally get to the car holding everything up and it was a dude in his 20's driving with his cell phone stuck up to his face. He wasn't even trying to hide it.

While I dislike being constantly monitored, I have seen a lot of people that don't move when the light changes. They are on their phone and otherwise ditstracted, and have no idea the light changed. Then they have to be honked at to bring them back to reality.
