I haven't seen that - it feels like chasing good money after bad money though.
One of the things I'm thinking of is potentially only using it as needed - leaving the wiring there and just removing the unit for every day driving, and then when I want a front cam (when the kiddo moves to forward...
So there seems to be several folks talking about their Wolfbox and others looking to get one. I want to share my less than awesome 6mo review with it to hopefully provide another perspective.
Overall statement - the system works fine on a sunny summer day, but is riddled with issues...
I picked up a Bronco sway bar disconnect, thinking it might plug and play for the Ranger. Track width is the same, but it needs some unique sway bar links. It looks like the Bronco's go down to the LCA, while ours go up to the knuckle. And it looks like a bushing / hardware sizing difference...
Just going to throw this out here... it sounds like the s/w isn't actually created for the Ranger - which is probably why it isn't sold with it. I realize there are some things you can do in Forscan to change how things work, but then there are other things that you can change in Forscan, but...
I wouldn't expect to actually be seeing 32V. You have to think about where that would come from - and even if you powered a powered line, it doesn't add 12V+12V, you just end up with a short to power.
You also have the fact that it's showing your ETB at 100%, but then "bank 1 ETB" at 0%. It...
So, per the title, my keypad has stopped working. Doing some research (and using common sense), the battery died. So I've learned a few things.
1) The battery lasts about 5 years.
2) When the battery is low, it unlocks/lock/unlocks when you input a code in order to warn you as a driver. I...
Wow, I haven't looked at this thread of mine in a long while now. I guess I should share what I ended up doing as a solution. Since I have a bed rack on my truck from April to October, I decided to utilize that for my reverse lights, mounting two white pods up high, and piggy backing off of...
I would go for sliders. Rear leafs (especially since you already have an upgrade with the add a leaf)aren't going to do much for your capability. Sliders will give you confidence to test your capability. Ergo, sliders.
A pin is not a replacement for a hitch shackle. Pins are designed to withstand double shear from a receiver, your tow strap is applying a single load to the middle of it. This is why you hear of them bending - they're not designed to withstand bending moments. Furthermore, any sort of angle...
I have a few thoughts, but I'm not sure how well they'd actually work or not, and would probably take some custom mounting solutions.
First idea
Your standard J cradle is designed to mount on the flat part of it to a cross bar. You could rig something up to have a J cradle like design...
You could also just mount your winch on the front, and then do a reverse winch if that's the needed direction, securing your rear point as a proper hitch shackle. You just need 3 snatch blocks, enough tree protectors for them, and probably a winch extension line. More details below.
Nothing against this color, or the artic white splash... But I thought they debuted the splash series as a limited edition splash of color... why all of the neutral tones?
I'm not short, so my answers may not help, but I did have a heck of a time getting comfortable in the Ranger. To the point where I was on the verge of crying because I thought I made a very expensive mistake in buying it. While I won't say that it's a super comfortable vehicle now, I will say...
Regardless of on road or off road performance, the best wheel size is the smallest required to clear your brakes. More sidewall is obviously better off road, but it also leads to a better road presence, and more comfortable ride.
That said, most people seem to think bigger wheels look better...
For all of you concerned about temperatures, keep in mind that Ford has to pass the J2807 trailer test in order to say that the truck is capable of towing 7,500 lbs.
The relevant section for this would be to be drive the 11.4mi stretch of davis dam (average grade of 5.8%), >100degF, max AC...
Well, lets back up and ask: What do you want to accomplish with these lights? Are they going to be your high powered off road forward lights? Are they going to be wide angle lights? Are they aesthetic only?
One you narrow that down, others can give you some suggestions on specifics. Though...
The truck will alert you with a message or something about 'power reduced due to cooling' or something when it starts getting too hot. And will actually then reduce your power, in several stages, in order to protect the truck. With all of the electronics in these trucks these days, they really...
Don't worry about tearing into the truck. There's a harness taped back under the dash for the controller to attach to. The worst part is getting the brake light signal from the 3rd brake light so the automatic emergency braking will activate the TBC as well.
