Either Rangers are getting taller, or I'm getting shorter. Maybe both?

Looking at running board/step to facilitate easier entry, and like the clean look of this one from iBoard.

Question is, which width to order? They come in 4", 5" and 6". I've never had them on a truck before, and curious as to advantages of one width over another and what others are doing. Thanks!

I've got the factory boards, 5", and wish they were just a little bit wider. I'd be happy with 6".

My Go Rhino Dominators are 6" wide but tuck so close to the rocker that I only have about 2" to get my heel on when exiting the truck. Suits me just fine though.

So it's not just the width of the board, it's also how close to the rocker it mounts.

Running boards have always been a "must have" for me in a full sized truck.

With the Ranger, they're more like "in the way". I can just slide into the Ranger, I'm 5 foot 9.
If I do step upon the boards, but hurts my knees, and really doesn't facilitate getting in.
I have a 4x2, but I did test drive a XLT in a 4x4, and they weren't useful.

I don't have a problem getting into the Truck, but keep a Step Stool in it just in case I have a short passenger. Poor man's solution ?
