I wish Wisconsin would join that list. Bad enough we have something like 50 different specialty plates most of which you can also personalize. Makes it hard to tell what state your from. We even have plates for our pro sports teams and collages. Must be to keep the inmates busy. ?

We have a lot of different plates here too. Just when I think I've seen them all I'll spot another one I've never seen walking through the parking lot. Same goes for the sports teams but most here have the Cardinals plates.

When I moved here from MA I noticed that there are a lot of personalized plates here. I would see them back in MA but nothing like out here. I guess some people just like to waste money putting dumb stuff on their license plates. lol

You should see the list of specialty plates here in Florida - Pro Teams, College teams, Military Branches, and so on, and so on!! At the license office, they have an entire (big) wall covered with all of the demo plates...

New Mexico has only had one license plate for years. On one trip to Denver (where I used to live), I got ticketed for having only one plate. Obviously, I didn't pay it! I did return the ticket, however, with a note reminding the fuzz in Denver, that New Mexico doesn't have a two plate law. Never heard another thing about it.

I'm taking the bracket off this weekend. The highway patrol wanted to keep them....I think they reflect radar back better than the plastic covered bumper.

I heard that it was supposed to happen with the new Ontario license plate launch back in February....Roughly 30 years later after the "Yours-to-Discover" update back in 1990...

What's the deal now with the new Ontario license plate? Did I see or read correctly that it's illegible at night now?

Yep can’t read them at night when light is reflected on it. I think they stopped making the new ones already and going back to the old ones for now.

We have to have front and back plates by Law Down under so the Police can get you with Radar guns or Parked Speed Cameras .. Grrrr,,
But we are big on personalized plates here.. one off fee $600 now from our RTA/DMV .
you can sell them if you like as well..

Wow, I did my realize there were so many states that only require a rear license plate.
Here in MA we had only a rear plate a number of years ago, but now require two. It would be nice if we follow the trend to get back to only one!
As far as the Ranger goes, The front plate bracket removes super cleanly with only two screws that screw into the bumper from underneath. With them removed, no trace of mounting is left in view!
