I want to take my Ranger off-roading, mostly rock crawling, or whatever rock crawling it can handle, Lol. As such, I want to increase tire size to 33s. Do I need to regear?

No, plenty of people on 35's with stock gears. You will however need to remove or replace the crash bars for sure.

Also there really aren't any gear kits available yet, and if you don't have the rear locker, more than likely your rear ring is welded to the carrier.

Yeah, somebody here had already mentioned that there are no gear kits to regear the Ranger, that's why I was wondering if you do need to regear. I do have the rear locker.

Oh, it’s you... I think we covered all of this in the other thread maybe. I know it got a little off topic over there.

I just want to add that depending on the way you set up the wheels and tires you may or may not need to modify the crash bars!! With a lift or leveling kit it has already been confirmed that the Firestone Destination XT. IN 285/70-17 will fit with no rubbing on stock wheels and no spacers. Also the BFG K02 in size 34-10.50x17 will also fit on the stock wheels with no spacers and not rub!!!

Just some food for thought!!!

That is the first I have read about someone putting 34" tires on these trucks. I may just get a set of these Super Swampers then.
