I assume sync 4 is already basically abandonware since ford announced that they're moving to Android. But I've never had a car with infotainment that was supported well in the long term so it's kind of expected. As long as Android auto/carplay keep working it luckily doesn't matter much these days.

Does this stop the constant annoying "connect a Bluetooth device" pop-up messages?

They usually switch a model at a redesign, not all models at once. So I'd expect to see it in the ranger no earlier than 2023.

No upgrade available. And no Sync4 for 2021 Rangers. Could happen for 2022 but I imagine Sync4 advertising bigger screens, the dash would have to be redesigned. Only time will tell, but in the meantime, no big disappointment if you bought a 2020. I'll be bummed if they upgrade for 2022, but no heartbreak really. I survived in all my past cars without the wireless goodies, I'm sure I can survive here.

Well did this. It did it by itself over wifi. Just hit the automatic update. Now the the effing android auto doesnt work ? and no fu$#ing real useful change mother effer!!!

I never use android auto, but Apple CarPlay works fairly well. I’m not sure which version I’m on, but whichever one it is caused my custom background to stop working.

I believe the files starting 4U5T-14G421-CxD_xxxx... are updates of the map to Version 2 20. At least that is mine did. I also believe there are 14 different files to the map update. Using WiFi, my Ranger took about 3 days connected to my home to download and install. YMMV.
