Hi Folks,

Temps dipped down to 23°F last night and today I got a low tire pressure warning on the right rear tire at 24 psi....other tires at 25 psi, so drug out the air hose and adjusted tires back to door label of 30 psi...

Best,
Phil
Did you put on the parka to air up the tires? :p

Lol, I was afraid that was the direction I might be heading in. I’m gonna lick my wounds and give myself a day or two to recover from this last fight…..then have a good, long look at what’s required to pull down the headliner.

As always, the feedback and input is truly appreciated. Thank you!
You can download the Ford's trailer brake controller install directions. You have to drop the headliner for that install, so all the steps are there.

Just a thought... if you have a borescope you can take a peek in there. Or if you can get a camera in there enough to take a picture of what's happening, that may help. I bought a cheap boresope and find myself using it different ways to help with what I can't see. Clogged drains, broken sewer tiles, taking a peek inside cylinders and carbs, at home colonoscopies...
Just kidding on the last one, leave that to the pros.

I flashed my Ford Performance tune. Took a whopping 15 minutes, including checkout at the DIY place. i called Ford Performance and confirmed that, as long as the DIY tech (ASE) supervises the install, it counts and my warranty stays in tact. He charged me $26 for the time, even though I agreed to pay a full hour ($82). The owner said “you didn’t make me crawl around on my hands and knees, you get a discount “. ?

I haven’t done a performance tune yet, so I’m just curious what your impressions were/are afterwords? Lol, was the drive home a lot quicker than the drive to the shop? Thanks!

I drove about 100 miles yesterday, after the tune. My impressions are on the first 100 miles.
1. Everything is smoother. Startup, transmission shifts (up and down).
2. The revs hang a tad higher, almost like you're in tow mode. The truck doesn't cruise at 1200 RPM anymore, more like 1600-1800 RPM. This takes away all the lugging.
3. Downshifts are smooth and instant. No more waiting after hitting the gas. A buddy made the comment that he didn't realize my truck had downshifted until he say the gauge (gear counter).
4. Fuel mileage has increased 1-2. Yes, this is only 100 miles but its higher. I am hoping that, over a tank, it will go up a bit more. I monitor my fuel mileage on a 'per tank basis', so I have a good baseline.
5. The power is there, if you step on it. I don't usually get on the throttle, but the couple times I did, it was worth it. I've spun the tires more times in 100 miles than I did in the previous 14,700.

Frank at @Stage3Motorsports hooked it up with the tuner. Price was the lowest I've seen and the shipping was fast. I would recommend this to anyone wanting to keep their warranty.

What's the name of this DIY shop with an ASE certified mechanic on site?

I do all my work at home but would consider a place like this for something like the FP tune.

DIY Auto Repair is the place I went. They’re pretty chill. It’s $40 an hour unassisted. Which is awesome
Since they provide all tools and a lift.

A lift too?

I'll for sure be keeping them in mind. Thanks!

Member @BB3 cut me a great deal, even with gas cost, but **** that 7 1/2 hour drive.

Not the most flattering pictures, but I'm about to go to bed old man style at 6pm.

Out with old...

In with the new...

He even gave me some free RTR flares. Sadly not quite a match, but I'm going to see if there is someone local who works with fiberglass to build them up.

I still need to get my eibach 3" installed on the front. Been sitting in garage for how long now? I know you guys are dying to see a video of me using manual spring compressors... I promise it will happen eventually. Maybe tomorrow. Maybe I need to balance a whip cream pie on the springs so if I do die, at least my last moments will be getting a pie in the face... then a spring.

Washed and waxed the truck, removed the ecoboost emblem (and chipped the paint in the process), added chrome letter inserts to the front grille then black inserts in the rear, and removed the plastidip in the “Ford” font from the emblems front + rear. Very happy with how my truck is looking!
