You guys with your diff drain plugs... sipping tea with your pinky out and crap... ..... ...

On the trans: I might do the trans pan swap and dip stick (holy shit are they made of gold) at 50k so I can do drain and fills on my own.
That in is why I enjoy my old 1993 Pathfinder!! Drain and fill plugs on the front and rear Diffs along with the Transmission and Transfer Case!! Definitely helps for doing maintenance, just got to have the motivation.

Not sure what a fuel injection service is, but the other things should be done.

Those prices on the diff service an xfer case are crazy high. The coolant an trans prices seem more in line. I did the rear diff at like 18K an it was pretty dirty. I haven't done the front or xfer case since I have only driven in 4 WD a total of probably 30 miles.

I might change the filter an what fluid the pan holds myself. I wouldn't wait until 150K to do anything but changing what's in the pan an the filter every 40K or so might be good.
Unless you have locking hubs (Warn), your front diff and transfer case are turning whenever your truck is moving, 2 wheel or 4 wheel, doesn't matter.

I thought ford used a vacuum system to unlock the front axle while in 2 wd. My brother's f150 had this an so did my old wrangler.

You maybe correct, I have been known to be in error once or twice. In my 2012 Rubicon, the front drive shaft and the diff turn with the front wheels. The transfer case is where a mechanical connect/disconnect for 4 wheel drive occurs. My 78 Landcruiser had Warn hubs that had to be turned to connect the front drive shaft, and front diff to the wheels to allow 4x4 operation when the transfer case was shifted into 4H or 4L.

electric shift on the fly require no hand hub locking as they stay locked and in motion. the older rangers have the hubs you have to manual lock. most modern 4x4 are this way.

I would do it all. If you can do it yourself, do it. If not, have the dealer do it. I did all those fluids at 34000 miles and... it was dirty enough for me to be glad I did.

Do yourself a favor and get this for the front. Made filling the front really easy.

What a great idea for adding the fluid!

I currently have a 2020 Ford Ranger XLT FX4 that has 60,000 miles on it and the dealer is wanting me to get some service done and I’m trying to figure out what actually needs done at this mileage. My current driving conditions as far as temp and weather is central texas. I drive mainly city with occasional highway for trips. I have been keepeing up with my oil changes but I’ve only owned the vehicle since it was at 42K without much knowledge of service prior.

Look at your owners manual. Also in Fords website they say it all.

the trans isnt too bad to do by yourself, its a 90* rotated diff change if you think about it, just messier, but smells better!
Id also change the trans filter too, with how complicated these 10r80s are, wanna make sure that filter isnt clogged.
depending on the dip stick you can also cold check it, since some genuis thought the dipstick check next to the exhaust was great.

Fellow Ranger enthusiasts, are you not forgetting that the damper operates on the principle of compression which will require that the damper have preventative maintenance at some point!
That damper is hard as a teenage boy in the winter time to operate.

I do know the brake flush is itemized in the book every 3 years regardless of mileage, I did the induction / injection and normal "works" devices last week at 30k because I plan to keep the truck the brake flush was about that price and the induction service? seems like a good idea because these engines are direct injected, like I said I plan to keep it and will follow what the owners manual says as far as other stuff like coolant mine says 150k miles for example.......
