I noticed these hook-like things behind the seat. It does not appear that they are in use for anything.

Child seat anchor?
I am not familiar with how child seats attach, but that sounds unlikely. There are three of them, and are directly behind where one would sit.

Yeah, kinda. Just not recessed like my wife's Edge. So I guess they would come in handy with the seatback down and hauling something?

There should also be corresponding hooks where it hinges as well to hold the car seat down to the bottom of the vehicle seat.

Most newer car seats have a third tether in the upper center that clips into the hooks behind the seats.

They're for child car seats.
You can barely see the diagrams in the plastic.

Most car seats have an anchor that go up over the seat, that's where I hook the ones for my kids.
