When you really want to do donuts? I can't think of any other reason that others haven't mentioned. The traction control and stability control of modern vehicles is like magic.

In really thick mud or deep snow when you need the wheel spin to clean the tires, such as off roading.

Yep, basically when you need the wheel spin to dig you out of something. Otherwise, leave it on.

A guy was stuck turning left from the slush pile that forms at the end of my street. He eventually figured out how to turn off traction control so he could rev up his tires and dig his way out.... After I spent 5 minutes with a shovel helping him XD

I searched. I hadn't been shopping long when I ordered my Ranger.
I'm getting an XLT 4x4. Does it come with this 'Traction Control / Advanced Trac feature?
Is it similar to what my CRV has where no matter how hard I try to lose control the CRV just corrects itself and maintains control. Is it like that?
How good does it work on icy roads?

Haven't needed it yet. This may help.

Thanks, I'll take a look. Where I live we don't get deep snow, but slick roads and black ice are common.

I personally dislike it. I passed on buying a new truck for years because of TC. I caved in.

I got mine as winter was starting to head out, so I never really had a chance to "play" and test it all out.

I'm not sure how it's going to work on the Ranger, but whatever my CRV has really works. Some in the Portland Oregon area may remember the last few real bad ice storms we had. Cars and Trucks all over spun out along side I5, 205, I84. Just abandoned. My CRV I couldn't make loose control.

Is there a way to ping another member?
I'm thinking @RedlandRanger may have used the feature and know what I mean about our weather.

Like ass, i turn it off every single time i get in the truck!!! I hate it! I only turn it on when its raining or the roads are slick. Thats it. I wish it was off by default.
