Thank you so much for this, what are the connector plugs you used? i was looking into getting duech connectors as the lights i have are plug and play.
the plugs you see are 1-wire deuch connectors from Amazon. These are on the cheaper side. I was okay saving a couple bucks as this is on the input side. For the output, especially the higher current outputs, I would use a higher quality connector. I used solderseal connectors on the outputs.

My experience was that it was easy. I used solder seal connectors. I also added connectors between the switches and the inputs to the relay box. This allows me to change what output each switch controls.

Thank you. I didn't get a chance to review my wiring until this weekend. My wire bundle was folded and tape down, so I was looking for physical connectors in the box itself.

Yes, I feel stupid. Thank you for clearing this up.

Here are some picture of the Australian version of the Upfitter switches. If it turns out they are the same as the American, I can go through it’s operation with any who need.

This is the most info I have found on the net for my fx4 max switches.
I have a lithium second battery installed and I want continuous power to at least 3 of my upfitter switches so I can have camping lights.
Any idea how?
Looking at the diagrams here the red and white wire is power for switch 4,5 and 6? Do I cut in power to this red and white wire? Or do I need to do something to the upfitter switch box on my dash?
Cheers

Here is my question. I was going to run two 20 watt flood lights off my back bumper. Doing my research to figure out what gauge wire to use for a 20' run I could get away with using 14g from the up-lander box to the lights on the rear bumper. The lights(tied together) only draw 3.8 amps at 12v so 14g wire, I would assume would be good and the use of the 5amp fuse should be good. But if the wire coming out of the fuse box is a smaller gauge then I I'm limited to the length I can run do to the wire size out of the fuse box.

Your thoughts?

I was poking around under the hood today to connect my Ctek battery tender & found the upfitter fuse panel mounted flimsily between the driver's headlight & front of the battery. It is on a flat black piece of plastic with honeycomb texture that is only mounted at the left end (as viewed standing in front of the headlight looking at the battery) by a plastic push in fastener. It is very floppy. Is it supposed to be this way?? There is a metal bracket a few more inches to the left with 2 studs protruding with nothing connected to it. Seem like that would be a much more secure place to have mounted it to.

Also found a headlight bulb resting behind the top rear edge of the battery, just sitting in the gap.

I had this same question. Ford went with the minimum requirement. So the question becomes, how to join different gauge wires for the trip to the rear.

I went with a terminal block and loop connectors so you can come into the block with the Ford wiring, and leave with whatever your heart desires.

Make sure the block can handle the amperage of all the switches on at the same time, even though that tends to be an unlikely event.

I'm in the middle of wrapping the wire in some loom for the trip under the truck to the rear for my own light projects. The block is ready though.

The red wire on the bottom is 14 gauge and going to a light bar on my front bumper. I'm going to rig up a bus bar for the negative leads and mount it on the fuse box above the battery.

Yup, that's the way it's supposed to be mounted.

That metal bracket...? No one knows what it's for. There was a thread no more than two weeks ago discussing it.
