I have a Tacoma. Didn't realize I was blind.
Hi Jim,

You are not blind...buy what ever suits your needs. If Ranger is not suitable for your needs, sad to loose a customer.

My son bought a Taco and I think he overpaid - 2016 TRD Pro , 60k miles he paid $30k for it. I did make him a low interest loan, but I told him to consider a Ranger as for $30k I think one could get a well equipped xlt. Will go off roading with him this summer so will see how my Ranger performs.

Jumping in late here, but I ran a 14.957 this weekend in my 2WD SuperCab. I was a bit disappointed, honestly. I'm tuned and was really hoping for a 14.5 or better. That being said, it was hotter than hell out, was my first time taking it to a track, and it still walked right away from that little civic that thought he was hot shit next to me lol
Yes, turbos don’t like heat...my best ET is 13.99 @ 99 mph, but it was 30 degrees outside.
Regards

Hi Phil,

I was a happy Ford customer. I had a 2017 Mustang GT that was rear-ended and totaled in March 2019. I do have to say that the Mustang did very well in the crash. I would have purchased a Ranger but at that time they were in short supply in the Phoenix area and dealers had too high of a markup on them. It just happened that somebody at the gym I belong to found out I was in the market for a car and asked if I was interested in a 2011 Tacoma. It was in good shape with 76k miles. It really came down to paying cash for the Tacoma or buying a new Ranger and having a $22k-$25k car loan. I do miss the Mustang, but I do not miss the car loan I had on it.

My other car is a 9 second mustang. Im positive from a stop light on the street. I could outlaunch that car in this truck and hold it off til about 60mph. These trucks are peppy little fellas.
A sub-10 second car would running @ 140+ mph at the end of the quarter mile. For a Ranger to keep up with a car that fast, up to 60 mph, would be very impressive. Last week, as I was driving home from work, I got to watch a guy have some fun with a McLaren. He actually pulled up along side of me at a light and punched it when the light turned green. Whoa - I was impressed how well that car hooked up. Even if I still had my Mustang GT, I think I would have hung with him for maybe 5 feet. I would not be at all surprised if he would have had 1.5 - 2 car lengths on me by the end of the intersection.

Correct how ever an 800whp mustang doesn't put the power down to well in the street. Ist gear is totally useless. Were as a smart guy in a ranger would turn on the 4 wheel drive. Turn off the traction control. And completely jump a spinning muscle car in the street when the light goes green. Then at about 60mph when a supercharged mustang finally gets traction. It will fly by so fast. The truck might get blown off the road. By a sonic boom. :giggle:So I recomend drag racing rear drive sports cars either very short distances. Or racing them across some farmers field.

I was thrilled to run a 13.95 and a 14.07 yesterday according to Dragy. Got the launch dialed in and it was only 75 degrees. Not sure why one of them says invalid... Just got the thing yesterday so don't really understand its "Validation"

This seems MUCH better than what I was running at the track and more along the lines of what I knew the truck could do

before they too caught another red light camera and had to stop.
Where in Fla do they have cameras at every light? I live in a small town area in Ohio an they're aren't any here, they're all over Toledo (last time I was there) an one local city uses the speed camera to make money off their 500 ft stretch of I-90.

All three of my boys are university of Toledo grads. I went there to move my oldest from one apartment to another in my son in law's cummings 2500 that was beefed up an a monster. He had a radar detector an that thing went of at every intersection because of the traffic cameras.

5 Star Tuning 93 Performance tune with 1 revision to increase throttle response
K&N Drop in filter
Boomba Racing bypass valve adapter...

I have an exhaust system on the way too (AWE tuning 0FG cat back). I'll do another run w/ video when I get it installed. I also had a passenger in the truck when I did those runs. Maybe without a passenger and with the exhaust, I can run a 13.8!

That’s awesome. That’s Mustang GT times from 10 years ago out of a 4400 pound truck with a little 4 banger.
