I would like that and use some Ford points - but I have the drop in liner right now and I'm not sure I want to start cutting it upI use one of these on the Driver side of my Ranger. They have them for Both sides. Pivots out to the tailgate for easy access, locks and can be quickly removed when needed!

Does it interfere with the 2 tie downs in that area? I was looking at mine the other day seeing if one would be a good fit and noticed the tie downs sitting along the bed wall in that area. Also, how well does it mate with the wheel wells? I know that's why it's curved and shaped the way it is, but if there's weird gapping then I don't think my OCD can handle that. hahaI use one of these on the Driver side of my Ranger. Let me know how those fit? I think a ratcheting cargo bar is a must if you don't have some other support in the bed. Linex is on my list too, but I'd like to have something to prevent movement of cargo back there. In the F-150 I just built a small frame out of some 1x10s that worked almost exactly like the cargo bar did. This is what I plan to use.
I'm going with a ratchet cargo bar and 3 collapsible plastic totes

For the cargo bar I'm going with this

All of this under a BAK MX4 tonneau cover and a Bedtred impact mat.
Going to get LineX as well
I'm betting the Bedtred Impact mat will hold the stuff in place BUT you never know.Let me know how those fit? I think a ratcheting cargo bar is a must if you don't have some other support in the bed. Ahh, makes sense! I really want the linex, but I might have to put in a stopgap for a cheap-ish bed mat (~$100) to hold stuff in place with the cargo bar. Might have to take some measurements, because if three of those totes fit "snug" across the bed, it would be a perfect bed solution, especially being collapsible. Another thing to add to the list.I'm betting the Bedtred Impact mat will hold the stuff in place BUT you never know.
That is why I want the cargo bar as well.
The wood frame idea is good too!
One thing I like about these totes is they are shorter on the sides. We already have really tall sides on the bed and the truck itself is tall. I hoping my plan works out well. Going to be a while though before I can test it out.
Not ordering my truck until late next week. Probably be late April or May before it arrives.
Widening slightly the holes where the bolts go is hardly cutting up your liner. But it's your bed and your opinion that counts on your Ranger.I would like that and use some Ford points - but I have the drop in liner right now and I'm not sure I want to start cutting it up
Keep milk crates with smaller items in them, also have bed extender to keep stuff in the rear.I just use those plastic totes for bringing along stuff that I don't want rolling all over the bed of the truck. They come in all different sizes and depths so they're very versatile. We're going out to the desert shooting today and I have a couple that I bring which hold my target brackets, chains and spare parts and another for boxes of ammo and a tool bag. I also have a rubber bed mat so they don't slide all over back there.
When I was looking at installing the swing toolbox it looked like via YouTube - you had to cut away the back part of the bed liner - if all you have to do is drill holes then that might be planWidening slightly the holes where the bolts go is hardly cutting up your liner.
