When I pull out in traffic and step on it(not to the floor) I feel what I’m calling surging. It pulls hard then feels like it holds back a little then goes..it will do it a few times. I’m comparing it to my BMW that has a very smooth acceleration. Trucks only has 5000 miles on it..will a tune fix this or is there something else?

Has the vehicle always done this or is it a new symptom my experience says time for a trip to the dealer?

I'm going to go with a combination of turbo lag, plus your traction control.
Leaning heavy on the traction control trying to stop wheel spin.
Turn off the nannies and let her rip.

Yea I will shut that stuff off… then give it a try but I don’t think the tires are spinning.

Step 1: Do not compare it to a BMW, it will not drive like one.
2. Even if the transmission goes it’ll be less than paying for a couple oil changes and a tune up on the BMW.

Former BMW 750iL owner, the one with the V-12. Not ever going to see that acceleration again. Or the incessant repair bills after the 1 year warranty was up. Having said that, if I know I have to get out in traffic, I put the trans in Sport mode and let the petal hit the mat. Just keep the rear end in line and enjoy.

Does it do this in 3rd? My truck hesitates like it wants to shift to 4th but doesn't, then picks back up.

Okay, I don't have a solution but was curious if I was alone in this or not. I had an 17' F150 with the 2.7l that did this very thing but much less problematic. It was the 6spsd unit, though.

All the techs tell me is to "be more spirited" in my driving, which cool and all.. But I usually have traffic in front of me not going anywhere.

Unless I mash it to the floor it will skip 2nd gear..wondering if it actually went into second if the issue would be gone?
