Tire Size-Mixed results

With your set up what kind of tire tread, not sidewall, poke do you have. I have some 17" 8.5 wide +25 mm rims with Fox 2.0 stage 1, Icon UCA, hi cleaner crash bars that I am putting on a 23 FX4 and having problems deciding between 285's and 275's, 70R17.

I have your exact setup (-ucas) running 285 70r17 Wildpeaks. The tread is right in line with the stock fender. My mudflaps help to prevent rock chips but you can't avoid them all.
