When I did my sample at 15k km (9000 miles) on the oil ,I had 6% fuel dilution and no trace of coolant. Truck has 83,000km on it.

What is the reason you got your oil tested?

were you having an issue you hoped to diagnose?

No service records on any oil changes prior to purchasing it and it had low miles. Had only 14k on it and was a lease. I'm not too concerned. Best I can tell someone leased it and covid hit and it just wasn't driven much..

5k later things look better with Mobil 1. The first test was the Motorcraft oil from the dealer.

I put penzoil platinum ultra 5w30 in. Hope to see if the viscosity holds up better. The Mobil 1 viscosity was already low at 5k so I'm not using it again.

I had a Saab 9-5 Aero turbo that would also have low viscosity at 5k. Turbos really thin the oil out fast. The Saab seemed to do really well on 5w40 based off Blackstone testing. Anyone every run 5w40 in their ranger? May try and run some on the next change.
