Just received it and trying to remove those pins but seems like I gotta go get a smaller screwdriver bit! Never hurts to have too many screwdrivers I suppose
Get an eye glass repair kit and Good Luck!

It's possible to just get the bottom panel off and not the whole thing. I was able to. You can remove the whole panel if it's easier for you. I also outlined that in my build thread.
@RCMUSTANG , when you say your "build thread", are you talking about earlier in this thread or in the "All about RC's Truck" thread?

Sending mine back tomorrow, I tried. I honestly didn’t feel like breaking anything and it’s going to be installed in a brand new truck not a beater. Only downside it’s on my dime but it is what it is.

Instructions unclear; lost fingers. JK.

It's tricky, but once you get the hang of it it should be fine.

I needed to understand how the connection box worked -- its design.
The video didn't help much cause I just saw some guy jimmying a hole in the connector box and the wire came out.

A couple tricks:

1. shove something to keep the gate (long snap tab) opened. I found i was always inadvertently reclosing the gate when i tried to manipulate the terminals out. I just used the two ends of a broken toothpick.

2. Understand there is another latch per wire holding the terminal in; and you have to manipulate it upwards to unlatch.

Go to this site to understand how the connection box/shell is locking the terminals in. You'll be basically nudging the tab upward and pulling the wire out.

SEE "Extraction — Type "A" Shell"
http://ae64.com/Pin_insertion_extraction.htm

3. Do not grip and pull out the wire until you have it unlatched.

4. Listen for a 'click' when you reset the terminal.

Thanks for finding this. I just posted from what I did including the video. That was to go with the written instructions.

@RCMUSTANG can you add to the wire swapping pics to the first post so we don't have to go digging through the thread to find it? Or at least a link to the post number or page that it's on. Thank you.

I was pondering... Since this mod disables the autolock for the rear windows, my not so common sense tells me if I pull the plugs on the rear switches it will have no impact on the intended operation other than my dog (your kids!) won't have control over the rear windows. If anyone else tries this before I do, let us know!

Are you saying that the lock button no longer works? I guess the way it works now kind of sucks anyways, so not much of a loss if so.
