Well better late than never. I told a few members awhile back I’d post updates on the aftermarket engine cover and well…… it’s already broken…. From just sitting in the engine bay…. Yeah…..

silver lining it definitely helped keep water away from the plugs.

I'm not a metallurgist but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night - it had to be a harmonic vibration that caused this to snap like this right? It looks like all the cut out pieces created too much of a weak area around the rigid bolt.

In hindsight what would you say the odds are that you over-torqued?

Low as I usually am guilty of under torquing. Habit left over from working on scientific testing equipment and electronics. The first bolt in the front actually came loose and I lost it on the highway lol.
You might be on to something with the vibrations. Could also be low quality material. I see it all the time in aluminum. Usually stems from air getting trapped. Either way it’s the pits

It’s just dust. I have been driving as much as possible to pass you up on mileage

Had my drivers side rear bracket brake. Sent them a message to see how much a new one would cost and they sent me out a free one ASAP. Might not hurt reaching out to them with the pictures just to see if they will replace it.
