I would think the 2023 had more bugs worked out. I am actively seeking out a 23 like my 19 scab so I can move my accessories over to a lower mileage 5g.

I waited a year and got a 2020 to hopefully prevent any 1st year production problems. There were around 8 recalls on the 2019's. There have been around 5 recalls on mine. My truck has been trouble free so far.

I had no idea there were that many recalls for 2019 - the only one I had was the taillight one - which was not a problem on mine. Apparently it affected VERY few trucks, but due to the severity (no tail lights) it was a recall.

Interesting. 6 of those were posted before I ever bought mine. and never got a notice about the other two, which I assume weren't relevant to my Ranger.

Not all of them were applicable to my 2020. The recalls I had done were affective according to the production location and production date of my Ranger.

I had over 80,000 almost trouble free miles on my 2019 with the heater box being replaced under warranty being the only thing before trading it on my 2023. Have had no problems with it with over 18,000 miles so far.

2021 getting close to 70k. Just oil changes, set of plugs, and soon a trans fluid and filter. A front diff pinion seal fixed under warranty but all good. Plan to keep it to 250k or more. All my trucks go that long knock on wood.

Seriously, can I have the gas out of the oil when you change it, Have you seen gas prices lately?

If you want the best color they made them in, you are looking at 21 or 22 only. But, I'm likely a biased source of info on that.

There were more years without some of the 19, and maybe 20 only parts, such as the mentioned aluminum body panels and suspension components. So, if you plan to keep it awhile consider cost of maintaining those, or if having them impacts any upgrades you are considering.

Also, if you are in California and interesting in the Ford Performance tune, do not get 22-23, last I looked those years were never certified for CA. So, that makes the 21 the best there is, best color and FP tune allowed in CA.

I opened the hood today LOL I smelled the oil and yes very heavy smell of gas, so if I can smell it there has to be a lot :(
